Cunning customer .... but sorry " no ! "

Last Friday night , I got a booking at Park Mall taxi stand .

I reach and waited , there's about 7 customers Q-ing .... i waited and waited ........ never appear !

then i pressed the "Call the customer " button , then i saw next is the first customer on the Q have a glance at his handphone , my call machine respond : " Call-out unsuccessful , please wait for customer " ( he never answer )

The next best thing is : This job is cancelled just after that same customer make a phone call !

My LED turns to TAXI sign !

So this first customer on the Q very happily thought his chance has arrived , but sorry ! I zoomed off , without taking any customers , and of course him .

I'm so sure it's him ..... he don't deserve to take my taxi . This cunning method very old liao , not effective on me !

I got another ON CALL almost once getting out of taxi stand .

If i take him , it's against my Friday all must ON CALL principal .

Some might asked : Taxi stand you "TAXI" , don't take people , people will complaint you !

well ..... I put BUSY go pang jio lor .

I already secured myself with another ON CALL so no problem about that . My company will protect us in this case .

at the end of the day , trust me , consumers don't win .

Remember this , during 5pm to 11pm ....... you need that very one taxi , for us , we don't need the very one of you at the taxi stand , i have many people calling right from their offices .

Don't try this method , it don't work one , for me , it never works .

Bo hua on your side , don't try , trust me .

My instruction from the company is clear-cut : Just wait a while you'll get a job in 15 seconds . The company will despatched a booking right after i am available within 15 seconds .

like Tuas/ jurong during off peak hours etc?

what if when u reach the destination, customer cancel booking and your LCD change to TAXI and he flag u down?

I only have one complaint.

If taxis are not interested in picking up passengers, for GOODNESS SAKE, turn their sign to something other than TAXI

I'm seriously pissed with seeing empty taxis with this sign driving past like I'm invisible.

No way i going to pick customers at Tuas or Jurong ...... i spent some time going up there to help them go home , and spent some diesel at my expense to help them go home . Not worth it to street pick them at $2.40 pick up , where i can street pick anywhere in Singapore , no need to go up there , intentional to help them go home .

Anyway , those customers at Tuas and Jurong Industrial area never cancell a booking , cos company pay for their trip , they just call and wait .

It's a funny scenario at Tuas and Jurong , everywhere is "TAXI" flying on the road , no people will ever flag for one , cos they just know ..... we never will stop .

Obviously you are not one working at Tuas .

What ? More likely my taxi company will get a councelling session from me . Us without Comfort , Comfort without us , Comfort will never ever meet the booking record of 1.4 million bookings a year , us will never be able to feed our family .

Just street pick , at normal flag down $2.40 , it's history liao . No way cabbies can survive on that money . Especially with such high expenses on diesel .

Customer service ? Hahaha.....in my track record , i am a good driver u know , they know la , cos i 4 years , not a single complaint from commuters . More compliments than complaints , i guess , in my record .

hahahaha...... if they ever see this forum ...... they will laugh la .

Cos I am educating Singaporeans here .

Singapore commuters deserve some educations from the taxi industry .

Taxi drivers already knew what commuters want , but apparently , commuters did not know exactly what cabbies want .

It's MONEY , maybe ......... but how to get from commuters ? Rob ? Steal ? Swindle ? Of course no la , it's just those normal " Antics" by cabbies .

It's not a secret la .

Let's hope FI do us a favour , and let those relelvant authority know , cabbies has their own grievances , not heard !

It's time they look at cabbies version to improve customer services , not from customers version .

If put BUSY , no booking will ever come in ! All thanks to customers complaint , the company block the signal from coming in , when the LED goes BUSY .

That's why u see many Changing Shift XXXXX during some busy time of the day .

If you use ur home phone to dial for a cab , and confirmed a cab ..... use the same phone and dial 6552-1111 and press 1 to cancell .

Same applies to handphone .

I heard u better not cancell too much booking , or ur number will be block for future booking .

Cos i heard that our taxi company , during prime period , has not enough cabs to cater for regular customers , eg , all Hotels ( customers rushing to Airport )Citibank , UBS , UOB , Tokyo banks , Swiss banks , HKLAND ...... so they had to be ruthless to cancell out some irrelevant bookings from some in-genuine customers . Some customers for them is important . Not all customers is important , we doesn't have some many cabs to make everyone happy , at certain time .

And we have a very broad base for Corporate customers , who used Corporate cards . We just have to standby for them , they are important . Very important .

Lazer , this scenario will never changed , how hard u complaint , it will be the same .

It's the booking charge that makes us wanting to take booking .

If ever , Singapore scrap off the booking service , and up the flag down to $6.40 , no cabby will hide & treat you transparent , no customer will compaint .

Cos booking is a lucrative business , both to cabbies and companies perspective , they not likely to scrap the lucrative business .

Imagine .... 1.4 million bookings each year , and they charge $0.70 per booking to cabbies , how much is their revenue for just the booking each year ?

Think again ? Who's fault ?

Some already know these wicked way , and cabbies have counter this problem .

All cabbies are like me , the only difference , I chose to voice and be heard , some chose to keep quiet ! Not wanting to be a hero , just want to share with forumites here , the survivor code of a cabby .

I'm glad many of you learnt something from these messages .
